The course is poorly structured, and Ryan doesn't do a great job at explaining what he expects us to do for the assignments. He told us to ignore the rubric that is posted, but never told us what he is looking for in our assignments. His TA's mark very harshly and give minimal feedback, and if they do give feedback, it doesn't make any sense
he gives vague instruction so make sure you understand what youre doing before you complete an assignment
Always trying to assign things then hide the instructions behind a lesson, he makes you work hard just for the instructions and they arent even helpfull or accurate and still grades super harshly.
He has the most inconsistent grading rubrics ive seen, he makes finding the instructions for assignments very difficult and then grades it very aggresively based on it.
He is very inconsistent with rubrics and grading, and even when you follow the rubric he can still fail you it seems like he has a sort of god complex. He is one of the hardest toughest graders I have ever seen, he's the only professor where you can complete a full assignment and he still not pass you on it due to some rule that wasnt on the rubric
The way the course is set up is honestly weird. Lots of work to do. Grading is rough as you can lose marks very easily. Prof himself is OK, but sometimes is rude and definitely has a god complex.
He's not a good prof. Nothing is clear. He has no emotion. Nothing positive to ever say. He posts assignment instructions on the modules, on D2L, in person and through email and they all say something different. How about stick to one mode of communication or post the same thing everywhere? When students follow posted rubrics we lose marks.
I personally love the entrepreneurial mindset and work that we have here at TMU. However being fiercely independent and creative doesn't mean first years should be left confused and disengaged with the work. When I email him, I unfortunately got discouraged from ever seeking help or advice especially when they try to implement weird AI systems
how you gonna say theres a group assignment but leave no instrucitons for it
he needs to lock in seriously
