All the other reviews talking about Prof Shi being condescending are right. She's well decorated, good for her, but her patronizing tone discouraged me from asking questions. The prof DOES NOT POST HER LECTURES NOTES, and has pop quizzes in the beginning of each class, class is not “mandatory” but you will lose a lot if you don't go. Final was hard

There's a whopping 15% extra credit if you attend class ON TIME for the in-person assignments. Go to office hours, she helps and challenges you to use your wits to understand the content! Her lectures are also straightforward. One of the best econ profs at TMU.

Surprised she's allowed to teach at this school. Her exam finals are disgusting and extremely difficult for no reason. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS.

I wish I picked another prof to each this course. She's so bad like she is always staring and rude. I did not enjoy her teaching style. The class average was 24% on the final.

Take this and all other bad ratings as your sign to drop her class IMMEDIATELY. Collects in class participation worth 5% (per class) at 8:20am when the class starts at 8. Written answer final, yet NO part marks given. Got a 5% on final. Zero grading criteria, and don't bother asking about it because she has no answer for you. The most RUTHLESS prof

I've never felt so upset with a prof before. As I'm reading her reviews I realized she changed her teaching and grade methods going from understandings to straight up failing students. She is extremely tough, she doesn't want students to succeed but instead creates material that is too complex. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!
