Goated prof; prefer him over the other Reza, ngl. His midterm was easy, and he curved it 10%. Final was a bit harder than other classes, though. Actually, go to his lectures, he's funny and cares, he gives lots of hints if ur in class too.
Participation matters since you can ask questions during lectures and he'll explain them clearly. Midterm and final are a bit harder than other profs, so keep that in mind, but he does curve pretty generously. His teaching style might not fit everyone, but you can still learn well from his slides.
He does not teach properly and always unclear speech, just good slides.
The course was very enjoyable. The lectures are really good to attend. He explains concepts clearly and makes each lecture interesting. Labs are somewhat vague but not impossibly so. Tests were fair and based on lecture material
Good prof but makes significantly harder exams for his section students which is unfair. My friend with other prof on this course got same mark with me by studying less than half of time i spent. He takes attendance but they have no benefits, overall teaches okay but treatment can be better
Decent professor with good slides and knowledge of the content, at times gets confused mid-lecture over his own notes
This course contains a lot of content and can get quite overwhelming. Dr. Samavi's lectures are decent, he speaks well and thoroughly explains concepts. His labs however are extremely long. We had to complete 12 labs and a whole project in the semester, it simply was not feasible. His exams are difficult but fair, you need to study to do well.
The reason why I gave the prof a rating of 4 is because his slides were great and moderately simple to understand. COE428 has a lot of theory and heavy tests. However, attending the lectures was important. The midterm was weighted 35% and the exam was 40%. The only problem was it was hard to understand the prof clearly.
Very long labs. Way too much content. Midterm was marked hard and one of the main questions was poorly worded. Prof's accent is clear, it's good he uploaded videos after in-person classes resumed. But poor wording makes lectures, labs and slides hard to understand, makes things seem more complicated than they are. Rely on textbook, Google, YouTube.
