This is class is boring. She doesn't have slides so she just talks and it's easy to not pay attention. The grading system she has is interesting and is actually worth it. If you put in effort you can do well in this class because of her grading system.
Professor Spice is an amazing prof. She really cares about the wellbeing of her students and makes sure everyone is on the same page. She always ensures if a student is falling behind she gives extensions with no questions asked. This course has a lot of reading, but there's always discussions about the material. She grades fairly. Highly recommend
Anne Spice is one of the most caring professors at Ryerson. She is very passionate about what she teaches and wants her students to get the most out of her class. Class included participation, reflections, and two assignments. Would definitely take her class again.
So knowledgable and passionate, such an engaging teacher! Having someonewith firsthand experience on the ground in Indigenous conflicts was activism is so inspiring. She's so cool. I'd never been this excited about a class. A lot of reading but it was genuinely interesting and she was really open to feedback/adjusting/doing less of the readings.
Super nice prof and really understanding. Gives you an extension on the essay if you need it and never wants you to be stressed. Only difficult part is she doesn't use powerpoints so you have to keep up with the readings.
She was the best geo prof ever! In the beginning, I was about to drop out of her class because there were way too many articles to read but as I studied for the midterm/final & read the articles, it was so insightful. The midterm and final were easy and the essay she marks hard, and just make posts on the discussion posts to get 15%.
One of the best and most engaging profs I have ever had. Marks hard on essays though.
Anne is amazing! Super nice professor and is a fair/easy grader. Would recommend anyone to take this class with her!
Professor Spice is passionate about Indigenous issues (especially because she is Indigenous) so there is an emphasis. Essay is fairly marked, follow the outline. Discussion posts are free marks and even gave us a chance for extra credit. Exam was straightforward, from readings and summary. Posts videos but also uploads transcripts which are helpful
Professor Spice has been nothing more than accommodating during this time. The modules are simple and interesting, discussions are free marks, and example questions are given in advance of tests. Her passion in the course made the lessons engaging despite being an asynchronous class. Honestly as long as you try, you will do just fine.
