Nina is a great teacher! She's friendly and engaging during and after classes, and makes time for extra practice if you need/want to before tests. Presentations were 1-on-1 in the languages office, which helps a lot with nerves! The more you practice in class, the more feedback you'll get and the faster you'll learn, so don't be shy!
Nina is a prof who challenges you in the best ways. No talking during class is not only respectful (Because she is deaf) but helps you learn a lot better. If you go to her lectures you learn a lot in a little bit of time and you will be prepared for all course work.
i took this class online but she's super sweet, understandable and easy to reach outside of class!
She has a very good system for a difficult course, especially with it being online. She cares about her students understanding and will go to extra lengths to deliver extra help when needed.
Great teacher and a super interesting course!
Nina is a great prof, she is very helpful and genuinely cares about ASL and teaching others. Great prof to have, highly recommend.
Attend all classes and sign along with her its a lot more understandable that way. Shes always cheerful and seems excited to teach. for assesments u do a sign language convo typa things with her and shes pretty encouraging and smiles to make sure your not nervous etc. shes funny as well. marks decently.
she was super nice and I loved her class
I loved Nina's class. I found that when we had class in person, I excelled exponentially. If I had infinite time and energy, I would take all the ASL classes offered by her and at TMU. She has encouraged me greatly to continue learning ASL!
she is so funny and kind! I loved her class and tried really hard to not burst out laughing while she was teaching bc she was so funny
