Easy exams but the grading is unclear, and quite punitive for how short of a page count is allotted. I wouldn't recommend taking this course, insanely stressful.
Weekly participation that we had to post, as well as two tests, a proposal, and a lengthy essay. The tests were online, and available for a week, easy. she responded to emails pretty quickly, and was understanding. weekly discussion posts required you to read the readings but I think it was marked on completion. decent grading.
This course was easy enough I can't really say the professor cared too much for the content but if you have a general understanding of the topic and are interested in the material definitely take this course
Do not take unless genuinely instead in learning about Madness. This course provides lecture heavy content and very minimal instruction on the final paper. Unless devoted on this topic, I would not suggest taking. Overall the course was interesting but heavy on readings and lecture content.
She's that one friend that's too woke
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this class if you're not familiar with the material. The course was team-taught, and I did not enjoy it. The course had TAs who were okay, but you didn't receive good feedback even when requested. Lecture material is being read from another document. She is accommodating and seems open to help.
Great only thing is she does not tell you that class is cancelled until the last minute. I suppose did not realize that students also commute and telling people 30 minutes earlier does nothing as people are already on the train there which costs time, and money students don't have.
I took DST88 with another professor before. While that professor was excellent, I did have a difficult time relating to the content. Prof. Munro is very relatable, accessible, knowledgeable, and supportive. I was lucky to be in her class for DST99 & it probably saved me from feeling lost. She makes sure her students really understand the content.
I am confused with the bad reviews. Lauren is an awesome prof, she is very friendly and understanding. I love how this course was team taught. All 3 of them were amazing. I've learned so much interesting concepts. The exams were very easy, there is definitely a lot of content, participation is also easy marks for completing it,
I disagree with the older negative reviews. This class is worth sticking with throughout the semester. Don't think this is an easy upper B liberal and there are easier ones out there. However, Munro was great. Stay on top of lecture notes, go to office hours, give it your all and you should be fine. It is easy to fall behind though.
