Hyacinth is very sweet, she reminds me of my grandmother, a gentle soul. As long as you pay attention and attend lectures, you will be fine. Her lectures can be a little boring, but the information is so detailed that it makes up for it.
Prof Simpson was overall a good professor. She's passionate about what she teaches and explains herself well. Course is overall pretty easy, just make sure to go to the tutorials. She provides supplementary material before all exams.
Dr.Simpson is very caring and understanding for her students. There are some tests but it's not that hard if you do the readings and be prepared also how it became an open book for us. There is also a group assignment, a group project, and a final paper.
dr. Simpson knows her credentials and doesn't take crap from any pretentious kid -- lectures are heavy but she covers absolutely everything you need to know, so if you go to lecture, you're pretty much set, tests are all online and open-book and all the readings correlate smoothly from one another; a structured and smooth flowing course
One of the hardest markers I have ever came across. I tried to do my best and relate to the course content but it was still not enough. Very frustrating
Professor Simpson is a true professional. She is knowledgeable about the subjects she lectures on and interprets things in a very distinct way. Definitely attend her lectures because she provides everything you will need to know about essays and other assignments in-class.
Cold, traditional teaching that leaves no room for personal thoughts. Feels like highschool.
I LOVED Professor Simpson. She was by far one of the most FAIR professors I have ever had. There was a quiz, a midterm and final (both online) and a final essay. It is important to go to lectures as there are no slides but she goes over the content EXTENSIVELY in lecture! No surprises on anything and all the readings/assignments were manageable.
So passionate and interesting! She tends to get a bit repetitive in lectures but she's so passionate and she clearly conveys material. She heavily hints at what will be on the midterm and final in lectures, so be sure to go to lectures and the tutorials aren't as vital.
You can tell she cares a lot about her profession and Indigenous topics. She is very kind and light-hearted. There is a slight time crunch with how long you get to read required books but it is doable. She gives students as much time and resource as she can for tests, and gives her own notes which helps a lot. Fair grader, and a lovely person.
