Agree with everyone below. It's not she's unfair but she needs to explicit in what she expects and how she will be grading us. The assignment was based on the neighbourhood we lived in and used censor data to explain points about where we lived. The assignment didn't seem hard but when marks came out, it was left field for sure. Beware of grading!
The issue with this class is the assignment which is worth as much as the exams. She has a breakdown of each topic and what the word limit is and ask that you submit it through word so she can give criticism. Not only does she hand the mark to you AFTER the final, she addresses the class as a whole on the low average, so no personal feedback.
Pretty much what the others have stated.
This class felt irritating. The professor would post lecture slides online and read off of them, extending very little on it whatsoever. Emphasized that purchasing the textbook is necessary for the tests and the project, but I rarely had to use it for the tests --didn't use it for the project. Gives vague instructions, no support via Zoom, etc.
The midterm project was incredibly vague and confusing. The instructions repeatedly stated students needed to meet the exact specifications of the assignment, and yet no coherent details were given. It was impossible to work with. The exam was meant to cover five units, but it seemed to only cover two.
She does not help students with clear answers or feedback on their discussion threads. The midterm was very left field, very specific information from the mandatory $90 online textbook (ryerson is a scam, spends 500k on an equity advisor yet forget kids cant spend 90$). Also, the lecture slides feel are filled top to bottom with info (70+ slides)
