One of the most compassionate and accommodating professors I've ever had. Highly recommend taking CRI300 with him if you can.
Faris is an absolute gem of a prof, his lectures are informative and to the point (no fluff) and I felt like I learned a lot. Assignments are tricky to understand but he provides lots of details. 10/10 would recommend him!
Faris is an extremely caring professor. He wants the best for his students and to see them succeed. I've retaken this course three times and this is the first time I had him as my prof and stayed until the end. If you are transparent with him if you need more time for assignments, he will most likely be very understanding about your situation.
Faris is a great prof. I currently have him for CRI 300, his lectures are easy to follow. Class is set up with weekly quizzes and discussion posts. Assignments can be a little challenging but he's a fair grader, could use some more feedback for assignments. Overall, I would love to have him as a prof again.
Great professor who really cares about his students. Would take his class again. Best of luck, Faris!
Faris is a good lecturer and cares a lot about his students. This is my second time to have him. He takes his time to explain the assignments in details (not sure why some other comments say he doesn't). When asked about the grade provided, he takes the time to go through feedback and where it came from.
Terrible overall. He was a nice guy and his lectures were easy to follow, but he hardly explained any of the assignments, and rarely gave feedback for them afterwards. The grades he gave seemed arbitrary and made no sense when lined up with the rubric, especially for projects which require a lot of time and effort. Wouldn't recommend.
One of the good profs I had this semester. He really cares about his students and will take the time to explain all the assignments in details and answer any questions we might have. Feedback can be different because there is a specific rubric that he needs to use, so if you want additional feedback, I had to email him. Overall, he's great!
Unsure of whether I would recommend so I'll just state my experience. He is a nice guy, but assignment instructions were often unclear, which resulted in weird grading with no real reasoning. Easy weekly quizzes and discussions. Considerable am of assignments which were all weighed small. Not bad overall, but it was tedious and I'm glad it's over.
Faris is really passionate about the Graphic arts and you can tell that by the way he teaches. He provides you with lots of industry examples which help reinforce many of the different topics discussed during the lab lecture. Would definitely recommend taking a course with him!
