I think Dr. Little is an excellent professor, given how difficult the course is. His lecture slides are great, and he is really good at breaking down concepts and clarifying if you need help. The course itself is very concept heavy, but he doesn't test on anything outside of lectures, so actually going will help out a ton.
Dr Little is one of the best professors I've ever had, extremely talented at explaining concepts. Cell Signalling is not a hard course but it's just challenging with how many pathways there are and their interactions. The concepts themselves are not hard to wrap your mind around. His tests are a bit heavy but extremely fair.
He's a genuine guy who actually cares about his students! his lectures are very informative and his tests are very fair.
The content of the class is very difficult and memorization heavy, but Dr.Little does his best to teach us everything and lay out all the tools we need to succeed. It is up to the student to decide how to use those tools
this is a hard course. he teaches ok but exams and assignments are difficult and unfair. he also be doing too much like if u use your one-time acr, he will not let you write your exam, even if verified. if you ask him to give you feedback on an assignment he will ask you to request it formally in writing. like fam its not that deep. id avoid him
Dustin was a great lecturer. The tests were long, but the questions were very fair. The example questions he taught were used as short answer questions on the tests. Understanding the reasoning and the chemistry behind the enzyme mechanisms is crucial, memorizing won't work. Missing 1 atom's a big deal in biochem (ie DNAvsRNA) ofc he took marks off
Very good lecturer. Test were fair and use a specific grading rubric. He is always willing to go over content with you. Study and you'll be fine.
This course is brutal, he expects us to memorize every single mechanism, including all the cofactors and electron movements. If you forget even one atom/ electron, they deduct marks. Midterm averages 30-40%. Each midterm is 30%, the final is 35%, and 5% Achieve. Tests 8 MC, 5 SA, 3 LA. I never thought anyone would top Anne Johnson, but here we are.
This is for BCH463. Averages on midterms were 36 and 40 in a class with two 30% midterms and a 35% final. It speaks volumes that advanced biochemistry 1 was somehow a way better experience. These tests should be shortened to actually ensure they're finishable in the alotted time and not biochemistry essays. Avoid courses with this prof if possible.
This is the hardest course i have taken in the last 4 years. he teaches well but the tests are very long (all long answers) and application-based. i would drop it but i need to graduate... do not take this course and this advice comes from a 4.3 gpa student...
