Great prof! gives examples that stick in your head for the tests! Tests were online, final exam in person, but all are open book! Attendance isn't mandatory, but he goes through the cases in class and not all the case info is on the slide sometimes! He also goes off topic sometimes, but is a great prof overall!
Useful course for real world situations if you're in HR or have employment issues at work. I liked the prof's teaching style as it involved cases and real life examples.
I had Prof. Tsai for CLAW529 where it was asynchronous. He was very quick to respond to emails and straightforward with what he was looking for with our Bargaining Assignment! Just do exactly what he says and you'll get a good mark! The exam was short answers, open-book, and pretty clear as well. If you go early to the exam, he will run over it.
He uses Socratic teaching. Make brief notes on the readings and detailed notes on the lectures for the test, group presentation, and group paper. He talks about interesting and important Canadian topics. There is participation. Sometimes, classes can get a bit awkward when no one talks. The worst part of the class was the physical room, lol.
This professor makes what could honestly be a decently easy course much harder than necessary. Often cites content that "we should know" from other law classes, not considering that this class can be taken as an OE by non-business law students. Grades very harshly and does not give enough time on exams, makes so many spelling errors its crazy.
Interesting class but the group presentations are intense. It's like being in a mooting competition, but we learned a lot and probably my favorite class that year.
Great prof but very disorganized. This was his first time teaching this class. He only arrived on time ONCE (only for us to be locked out of class). While teaching, he asked very unclear questions, so there were a lot of awkward moments. Still, he mostly teaches the fun stuff, and the textbook wasn't necessary if you took good class notes. 8/10
Interesting class and I liked the discussions and lectures on tech law.
Useful employment law experience as a lawyer. Gave good tips for us already in HR.
I liked the tech law course. Interactive textbook was useful and not dry. Good teacher.
