Professor Arani is a really great professor for this course. His lectures are very clear, and the midterm and exams including the quizzes are very fair. They are really based on what he teaches and the homework/ in-class examples. The course is already hard as it is, but Dr.Arani makes it easier, especially when it comes to his marking.
Nice guy but he is very overrated. I used to be interested in power systems until I took this class. The course is already pretty difficult, and the exam questions are not very similar to the lecture examples. They are def harder. U need to understand the concepts, because memorizing the lecture examples will not be enough unfortunately.
Arani is one of the best professors at TMU, in terms of caring about his students and teaching. He posts online lectures from previous years AND covers them during the in-person sessions, and covers lots of examples from previous years quizzes, midterms and final exams in-class. He made a difficult course semi-easy for everyone
Good prof. Post recorded lecture but you have to go to class for the bonus examples he does that he doesn't post on d2l.That's probably his only downside keeping him from a 5/5. But overall, he gives fair exams/quizzes and is a fair marker as well. Final Exam is time consuming tho but questions are fair.
S-tier. The anti-Richard (ELE know EXACTLY what I mean). All lectures recorded; great examples with THOROUGH explanation of EVERY step; nothing ambiguous; what you learn makes you understand the theory AND the questions are realistic. You will LEARN from him (rare in this school). Test difficulty comes from TIME, so learn to be quick and accurate.
This man is a gem, his teaching style is amazing. Lots of examples and clear-cut, no extra stuff and he gets right into the core of why you need to know what you're learning as an electrical engineer. Lectures are a bit heavy but engaging so it doesn't feel like you're forcing yourself to learn, just happens naturally!
If you take 746, please be aware of TA "Eren", as instructed by Professor Arani, students in TA "Erens" class did much worse in quizzes, than in TA "Negar" Class. If an audit is conducted, please compare the quiz averages of TA Eren and TA Negar. Professor Arani teaches well, but should not instruct one TA to mark harder, while other TA is lenient.
Prof is a harsh grader; you must get a cool TA if anything goes with the name "Erren Ali," you are in trouble, a bad, unfair TA. Only a TA can help you out to do better in grading. The professor is good at teaching, and you will learn. Quizzes and Finals are challenging. Take the course and him, he is Excellent, but be aware of your TA.
