if you have anxiety in class like me, I love how you can still get participation marks in other ways. He also had a no-exam option as well, for students with test anxiety. the TA was a bit of a tough grader for the essays, but so much of the grade is attendance/participation/discussions so you can still do well in his class
He is really great, knowledgeable, and passionate about the subject, my one gripe is that things take very long to be marked and returned (up to a month). We're a short time away from the exam and I only have 22% of my grade available to me. I'm not a philosophy student so if I had a better idea of progress throughout, goal setting would be easier
Michael is one of my favourite profs I've had. Great discussions, super nice, good feedback, great engagement, there is so many good things I can say about him! My only con was that I wasn't really interested in his class hence why at times it felt boring. Though if your major is philosophy, Michael is your guy, super informative, great guy!
This professor creates an open, judgment-free space where discussions flow naturally. He explains concepts clearly, making even complex topics easy to grasp. His flexible, laid-back nature makes learning stress-free, and he's always willing to help. His class is engaging, supportive, and a great experience overall
Dr. Milona is a very smart and personable person which shines through his lectures. Philosophy can be heavy, but he does his best to keep it engaging and interesting for everyone. There isn't a question you have that he cannot answer well. Lots of participation marks that are easy to score high on, but the tests can be hard.
Such an amazing prof and you can tell he's actually passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are super engaging and his class discussions are always so entertaining and insightful. He is truly one of the best professors I've had the pleasure of learning from. I seriously can't sing his praises enough!
Great guy. Clear, brilliant, and engaging. Show up to class and put in effort. And do the readings!
Great Philosophy Professor! Taught the course very well. Significant portion of the grade is participation so attending lectures is a must in order to succeed. Definitely marked the exams tough but the questions came from lecture content and readings so studying is key to success.
Cool prof. Interesting course material and lectures but heavy readings. 35% of your grade is just showing up to class and minor participation. Tells you exactly what he's looking for with the essays and tells you what questions will be on the exam. Easy A.
This was funnily enough my first ever philosophy course and Dr. Milona was simply amazing. The course in itself is super interesting but he is also very attentive and good at knowing his content. Course is very material heavy and has difficult long papers. Only take if you are genuinely interested/willing to work for it. He rarely grades about 90
