I took 580 in Fall 2025 and I highly recommend this class! One of the best professors in the Law department, he is caring, knowledgeable, and explains concepts very clearly. Classes were engaging, interesting, and well-organized, and you can tell he genuinely wants students to succeed. Easily one of my favourite profs at university!

I never write reviews, but I took 580 in Fall 2025 and Prof Silva is genuinely one of the best professors at TMU. He made every lecture interesting and actually fun to learn from, which is so rare. You can tell he truly cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He explains concepts so clearly, is incredibly helpful and knowledgable!!!

Honestly one of the best professors I've had so far. He genuinely wants his students to do well and is always clear with his expectations and instructions. The course is very straightforward, and it's honestly hard to do poorly unless you never show up to lectures. I highly recommend taking his class!

One of my favourite professors and one of the best classes I've taken. Professor Silva is engaging, passionate, and encourages discussion, especially around current events. He explains concepts clearly, marks fairly, genuinely cares about his students, and I would definitely take another class with him.

Take him. He literally gives you the layout and what questions are in the exam. Even though the exam is based on the textbook the answer are easy to find. Would take his class again . Easy A+.

This was one of my favourite law courses. The professor is extremely caring and genuinely wants his students to succeed, which really stood out throughout the semester. He created an engaging and respectful learning environment where students felt encouraged to participate and think critically.

Silva is a great Prof. Assignments are fair and directly tied to what's taught in class, and the exams pose very reasonable questions covering broader course topics. If you actually attend class and participate, I don't see how you can do poorly in his course. I would absolutely take his class again.

Prof Silva is very passionate, knowledgeable, and cares about his students. The course is interesting and not difficult. The midterm and final were both very fair, and the professor gives participation marks, which will boost your grade. Would recommend.
