great prof, seems to genuinely care about his students. makes the course easy and enjoyable

David was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. This class was very dynamic, with lots of interesting fun participation during class that was eye opening. He is clear about marking. Exams were graded fairly. He has a fresh perspective on the field and is active in his own academic journey

Professor Sumantry was a wonderful teacher. His lectures are engaging & he genuinely cares about the content & his students. Class had reflections, written midterm and exam, a small project, a group project and a paper. He gives good feedback and is responsive to emails. Highly recommend!

Great experience with Dr. Sumantry! His exams consist of short-to-medium answer questions, alongside a few multiple-choice questions. We had two exams, a paper, a mini-presentation, and weekly reflections. You are highly encouraged to attend lectures since the reflection prompts are often mentioned at the end of the lecture + are not recorded!

Awesome class and professor! Overall, loved the format of the class and the well-detailed professor! I highly recommend it if you are into talks and just engaging in a friendly environment! Marking-wise- he can be tough, he's just looking for the specifics and key points. Make sure to take notes and read the textbook if needed.

Dr. Sumantry was a really chill prof, very straightforward, relatively okay marker, and responds to emails pretty quick. His tests were all short answers, barely any multiple choice. Totally recommend him, he makes classes interesting and fun.

Amazing instructor! He was also super fair in his marking and expectations. Even if youre awful at math you can definitely finish this class with an A! His teaching style is super easy to follow. If you study off the slides and follow along while he solves problems during lectures theres no way you could perform poorly on any assessment

literally the best prof ive had so far like DEFINITELY would recommend. Im terrible at math but he explained everything so well and the TA answered all of my questions but she answered them with great detail and was super helpful and they were both so accommodating. 10/10 would recommend

Professor Sumantry is by far my favourite Professor here at ryerson. He's a very caring Professor and you can tell that he really wants his students to succeed. His lectures are enthusiastic and he makes them quite interesting which overall makes the course easier. I thought I would hate stats but Prof Sumantry changed that for me. Great teacher!
