Like. Just graded on a mid and a final. The exams are literally just explaining 4 quotes. Worked well for me. Hated the mandatory attendance. I didn't go to a lot of tutorials, but the TA still wrote me in.
He's really passionate about what he teaches, and that comes through in his lectures. He does mark for attendance but honestly if you go for them you are pretty much set for the exams. The lectures are content heavy and some people dont like to sit through the talking but I personally enjoyed them. He clearly cares and what to help his students.
350 characters isnt enough to describe how much of an abomination this man is to the practice of teaching, and the fact my tuition goes to paying a man who restrains my learning is wild. he's late to every class and has to call IT because he's too incompetent to figure out how to sign into the computer. his slides and exams are horrible, good luck!
He seems very passionate about what he talks about in lectures so in that case he's alright. The midterm was harder than the final which was unfortunate but he addressed the issue. Stay on top of your readings and your TA will make or break this class.
Lectures were super boring. He wastes time on recent events instead of teaching the course, so you're gonna have to read the textbook to learn anything. Only reason I came to class was for attendance. The exams are based on the textbook more than the lecture. Midterm was hard, with obscure questions, the average was a C. Do not recommend.
His lectures get boring very fast if youre not interested in politics. Its not a very engaging class but the tests are easy enough as long as you (kind of) pay attention. Id recommend to do the readings before class though because some of the vocabulary can be advanced if you havent taken a politics class.
Goodman is great! His lectures are interesting and he is passionate about what he teaches. Definitely do the work he assigns, it isn't too demanding and it'll help when writing his exams, which match what's in the syllabus. Show up to class, its worth a good grade. He's considerate and nice. If you're stuck between prof choices, choose him.
Good professor. Content was pretty dry but you could tell he was passionate about the topics. He's very considerate about grades and understanding. My TA was really nice and not a hard marker. Theres 2 exams and 1 super easy group project. Participation counts in lectures and tutorials but its an easy 20%. Midterm was hard. Would recommend!!
Good lecturer makes things interactive through student discussion and talks about recent events. 30% is an easy 100 bc it's just participation and a tutorial presentation. So just show up and thats 20% of ur mark. Exams aren't too bad just use quizlet and get the terms down. TAs are nice and tutorial discussions are honestly kinda fun
Very fair & knowledgeable. Great job of exploring concepts neutrally. I respect that he doesn't act like he knows everything. Can admit to mistakes. Fair grader. If you come to him, he will listen. 10% = lecture attendance, 10% = tutorial attendance, 10% = tutorial grade. Just be present & do readings Great TA. Engaging & enjoyable!
