Attendance doesn't matter much outside of critiques. Participation matters, she will make everyone comment at least once! Brutally honest but helpful in critiques. If there is anything wrong, she WILL let you know and will explain herself. Make sure to explain your ideas, she wants proper answers! You present every proposal and finished project!

By far one of my favorite profs at TMU. I've had Hilary for production both years so far and she is clear with instructions, fair with marking, and always available for office hours. She's approachable and class is always fun.

Favourite professor I've ever had. Hilary is very clear in her instruction, will gladly clarify any questions, is accessible outside of class time, provides amazing feedback, and is just a genuinely kind and caring person. She has pushed me to be a better artist and is understanding of various life experiences. Nothing but respect and love for her.

I had Hilary for my first-year Photo Production class and I had to teach myself a lot of the material. I found myself searching up YouTube videos or asking upper-year students in the studio how to accomplish specific lighting scenarios due to an (almost) complete lack of instruction. Was disappointing more than anything.
