She cannot teach at all, just reads the slides verbatim
Make sure to do everything perfect in the group project because there is no leniency, if you get something wrong or miss something your grade will drop. Her exams are unnecessarily hard, the content isnt hard to understand but Ellen does her best to make the exam hard. shes very sweet when you talk to her but her evil side comes out when grading.
She is nice, but is not a good teacher. If you value learning then you're better off taking a diff prof. She doesn't explain concepts well and reads off the lecture slides.
Prof. Ellen Choi is SO NICE, her class is SO FUN and ENGAGING. ( class start at 9 but she changed it to 930am) she is so real for that love her teaching style. For sure the best HR prof in tmu.
Tough grader who subsequently cannot teach. You are better off studying from the textbook
Lots of work to do, but it is a relatively easy course. Wouldn't recommend this prof however since she isnt great at teaching the material.
Please avoid at all costs if you want to spare your grades and sanity. Her teaching style is extremely unorthodox and not compatible with most people so take another class if available!! I found her mandatory lectures to not be that helpful, as most of the time she read off the slides verbatim. Also there is a mandatory textbook that you buy for HW
This is one of the best classes in the HR dept, super engaging and fun. It puts into practice different learning styles and activities. You learn valuable life concepts. It's not lecture heavy, again so you're actually learning instead of memorizing and having to do active recall. If it's not required for your program, take it as an elective.
Amazing prof, very very interactive class which made me show up every week. Wish I could have her for my other classes, gave good feedback and seemed like she cared about students wellbeing.
Professor Choi's class is highly interactive, especially at the start and end. The grade is split: 30% each for the midterm, final, and project, plus 10% for readings. Exams are online (40 MCQs and 3 multi-part short answers). She gives great examples that match the exams exactly and even ends class early or has online if participation is high!
