The lectures covers a lot of material but they were structured and delivered really well by the professor. The professor is very knowledgeable about the subject. Feedback was provided for all the assignments and tests, a lot of the assignments were proofs. This course was a good intro to graph theory.
She explains everything so well, if you understand the lecture and do the homework questions then this course should be easy. She makes graph theory really easy to understand. The exam questions were very similar to the homework.
This course is clearly aimed at computer science majors despite being listed as an elective option for math majors. The lectures move at a glacial pace, despite being a 600 level course she takes a lot of time to explain rudimentary concepts like factorials and induction. However despite being incredibly dull it is at least easy to get a good mark.
Well-paced lectures and organized & posted slides. Conveys information clearly, though the material can feel bland halfway into the lecture. Delcourt is an attentive professor that answers any questions posed clearly, whether in-class or by email. Textbook is by the coordinator (Bonato) and requires a purchase (solutions also a separate purchase).
Questions get answered very well, reads over slides but will explain things as she goes. She paces her teaching very well, but if you already went over the slides, her pace can feel very slow - and it doesn't help that the lectures are 3hrs long. Very nice prof, makes an effort to remember her students' names. Overall one of the best mth110 profs.
I was a little bit intimidated by this course, but Dr Delcourt taught combinatorics with a great passion, reflected with excellent presentation slides and a deep knowledge of her specialty field. Very helpful for the assignments which weren't too hard, and overall a lovely experience. Take this class if you can!
Michelle was a very good lecturer if a little boring at times. All her information was on her slides so you can easily keep up if you missed a class. Her exercises and sample tests were very helpful for when we did the midterm and final and one time she did a math magic trick in class. She's very nice and approachable.
4 Assignments worth 25%, very engaging content and material in a non hostile learning environment. Combinatorics with Dr. Delcourt has been very fun and really made me enjoy the field!
Understand the theory in the lecture slides and understand how to solve the lecture problems and then do the textbook questions. Test are all based on those problems.
Great lecturer. Slides are very detailed. If you understand her examples and practice, then you are set. She is also very approachable in and outside of class.
