She is super wholesome and a lovely person, I just found her method of teaching a little bit disorganized. But, she would stop to completely make sure everyone understood and took time to answer questions or re-explain questions if you don't understand.
Great prof, simple lectures and explains a lot while also going through lots of examples.
Super sweet and caring! Always open if you have questions about the course or a future career in data analysis. The end of the course felt a bit rushed as I feel like we didn't get taught enough material to prepare for the R project. However, the exams reflect what we were taught in class, don't forget to practice your proofs!
This course felt disorganized - lecture notes and the textbook were missing concepts discussed in class and none of what we learned did anything to prepare us for the R project at the end. This was the worst course I took this semester, not sure if it's just a poorly structured class or if it was her instruction but I definitely am glad it's over.
Understanding content was relatively straightforward in my opinion. She would explain it in her own terms instead of just reading off the lecture slides she had. She's also very approachable and will try her best to clarify topics/understand homework. I will say that sometimes she goes fast and would skip over steps during examples.
She's very caring towards the students and genuinely wants us to get good marks. Her marking is very lenient and she even curved the final exam for us because she didn't expect people to struggle so much. She also adds a bonus question during the exams, but barely anyone gets it right (I think only 1 person got the bonus in the midterm).
The first half of MTH404 is pretty difficult. Getting a grasp of the concepts may take some time, but she's very fair with what she puts on the exams. Very lenient, passionate about what she teaches, and the course gets easier after the first half. Really fun course once you grasp the concepts and begin applying them elsewhere in your studies!
she is the best. choose her literally. i had her for calculus and she is the best. she makes jokes not even knowing that shes funny. she as hand written notes that she posts online, and when you ask questions she answers them very thoroughly. she is the best
she seems really sweet, but she taught wayyy too fast. i self-taught myself the entire last unit and relied on highschool calc notes for the unit before that. she also tends to skip steps when solving, making it easier to fall behind in lectures. that said, they mark superrrr leniently and bell-curved the hell out of the midterm.
i loved professor liang. she's extremely kind, patient, and funny. she posted practice questions that were actually relevant to the material that was tested on the midterm/exam. plus, she recognized that the content was difficult and never made anyone feel less-than for asking for help. really hoping to score a class with her again next year.
