Karl Szpunar

I LOVED Professor Szpunar, his lectures were always engaging and really fun to attend. You have to make sure you're paying attention in lecture since a lot of what he says isn't actually in the slides but as long as you listen attentively you'll be fine. One warning, sometimes his TA's are very hard markers.

If you take this prof, please attend class. Slides are provided with the basic format but additional notes are heavily recommended. He does take a bit fast at times but would happily slow down if needed. Very accommodating, supportive and a great prof overall. His exams are MC only and accurate to the study guide that he will provide.

He is a kind man and can be helpful + understanding but be careful with these ratings. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't attend class you will do poorly on assignments/exams (slides don't have written info). TA this semester was doing too much but even regardless the exams are out of 32 so no room for mistakes which impacted my grades.

I loved prof Szpunar. I did pretty well on the exams but the TA that marked the assignments was a tough grader. It seemed that the prof wanted specific details mentioned on the assignments and if you didn't mention it, you would lose a lot of points. Great prof though. I would definitely take a class with him again (but maybe with a diff TA lol).

Be sure to pay attention during lectures. He barely has text on slides, all testable information is from what he says.

Love attending this class the content was interesting. Assignments marked HARSH, would nitpick ANYTHING even something minor mentioned in class which is bizarre...Exams get tricky wording is hard, studying didn't always feel like enough. If you struggle with how questions are worded you might not do well on the exams, even if you know the content

Very interesting lectures. Grade is based on 3 tests and 3 mini assignments. The assignments are marked harshly because there is a specific answer to each question that Prof. Szpunar expects you to answer with. Exam questions are always tricky but you'll do well if you attend the lectures. Overall really enjoyed the class content.

The prof was awesome, but the TA ruined my grade for the 3 short assignments.The rubric is clear, but if youdon't mention certainthings, you will get a 0. The prof actually taught methings in class and wasa great lecturer,but the 3 exams are only 32 MCquestions long and tricky to answer. So if you mess up like 6 questions, it willcost you ur grade.

10/10 No notes except how passionate this guy about T-E-A-C-H-I-N-G he is there to get the point across, not to talk your ear off. Love him! Would pick his class in a heartbeat.

This guy is actually the best. Always ends class early, is kind, clear, and passionate about what he's teaching. :)
