She knows her material and expects her students to come to class prepared. She gave engaging lectures and was approachable if I had any questions.
This is my second time taking her course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her lectures are engaging and she often connects course concepts into the real world. The format of the midterm is all short answers so make sure to do the readings and understand the main points and you will definitely get an easy A.
She is really engaging. Although there are a lot of readings, they are interesting if you really like sociology, plus there was a variety of different materials and media. She is really understanding and gives feedback on your work. Assignments were easy if you understood the concepts in class, since no outside research was required.
I wasn't sure about this prof in the beginning, but I actually really enjoyed this class. She gives good lectures, but the readings are super heavy. I actually found her to be a great marker. She provided great feedback and her assignments were broad and we had a lot to choose from. She is also super lenient and understanding. I like her!!
Boring class. Had great potential but wow was I disappointed. Do not recommend this class. Her lectures are pretty much the slides until she randomly leaves a slide blank and says you need to write down what she's saying. I'd say take another class instead of this unless it's your last resort. Even then, don't do it.
She made the course hard, marks pretty hard too but overall good professor in explaining concepts and theories.
Her marking scheme and rubric really screw you over. I found her lectures boring and dragged on a lot because of class discussions/group discussionS. Midterm is easy but shes a tough marker for the take home exam and short story analysis. If you think you wrote something solid, it isnt under her criteria
Lots of in-class activities and group discussion that helps solidifies your knowledge but is not graded. She gives really good and detailed feedback on her assignments and her readings are interesting and engaging. The exam is all short answers but if you attend lectures and do the readings, its not hard.
Lectures are easy to follow along as she uses great examples and class engaging activities. Although her lectures and slides are very simple, her marking scheme for assignments is whack. Being critical is an understatement when it comes to completing her assignments. If you thought you analyzed your work concisely and critically, think again.
Jennifer is now one of my favorite professors. Her lectures are interesting and she keeps students engaged by encouraging group discussion, videos and examples. She provides clear outlines/expectations for the writing assignments. Midterm required a thorough understanding of course content. Do the readings if you want a good mark!
