She is a sweet woman, however I personally don't like how test-heavy the course is. It's all test based, which I think is a bit unnecessary for an ACS course and its extremely history focussed and much less philosophy focused. The content is pretty generic and this course is basically just lectures.
Super Hard Marker. Her 8AM classes bore me.
Very heavy lectures! No assignments, just tests and exams… difficult to talk to and boring. Don't take the course unless u have to.
prof is a very sweet woman and easy to talk to. Her lectures are long (and frankly a bit boring) but they're informative. she grades pretty tough but she also gives good feedback. If you want an easy elective, skip this class. If you're passionate about history, she's a decent option.
By no means bad, just lectures were so boring despite how interesting the content was. I loved history in highschool, and got between a 98-100 in each of my history classes through the years. Despite the content's simplicity, i still found myself getting low C's on everything.
A sweet and engaging lecturer, but the course has too much content (5ish readings/week, 12+ people you need to know everything about for each exam). They want a specific essay with citations from memory within 50 mins. Students either recieved a B or an F. Professors would recieve better quality work if the course was structured differently.
She marks hard, but is very sweet and will help you if you go for help. The lectures are pretty boring and I find that she spends a lot of time on one point.
Professor marks hard but isn't unreasonable. The course is very detailed, and there are a lot of readings and information to go over. She's a good prof though, if you ask for help, she'll actually help you. Gives good feedback and takes her time to mark stuff.
I took "CHST111 & CHST211 with Professor Petrovic back in 2014-15. Her lectures were very informative and entertaining. Detailed note-takers would be wise to study with Prof. Petrovic because reading one's notes over and over more than suffices for exam prep. I'm about to graduate from York now, but Prof Petrovic is still one of my favourite profs.
A really passionate, knowledgable prof but she is a hard marker. If you go to her for help or ask questions, she'll give you good tips and a lot of information but you should know going in her lectures are very information heavy and she gives additional information outside the slides. She also speaks very fast, and can be dull but she's nice.
