This class is very difficult and fast-paced, so you really have to stay on top of everything. The professor is fair, and if he sees you working hard and trying your best, he will bump up your grade a bit. Toughest course in the Economics program by far. Don't fall behind.
He genuinely cares about teaching, using the board for detailed explanations instead of just slides or reading a textbook. There's no textbook, so regular attendance is crucial. Exams are challenging, with a tough midterm and a slightly lighter final, but you'll learn a lot if you just go to class and keep up with the material.
Econ is hard. if you're good at math you'll probably do well. Tests are straight forward, no new information. BUT, this class has zero theory, he doesn't even attempt to make the content engaging or relevant. Sucks for those actually interested in economics. Understanding the micro concepts was impossible, even tho i have an A+ in intro micro
This course is one of the toughest economics courses at TMU, so, with that being said, you HAVE to put in the work. Go to each class and tutorial and practice each and every question until you understand it. Yildiz is an amazing professor; he cares about his students. Any bad reviews on him are from those students who never showed up to class.
One of the most challenging courses, made even more difficult by Yildiz. Vague course outline. No textbook or extra materials on D2L so attend each class. Illegibly scribbles on the board while speaking for 3 hours. If you miss anything, you're out of luck, too bad! 40% midterm, 60% final. Strongly urge you to take this course with anybody else.
The teacher is incredibly dedicated and explains everything in great detail. They don't use a textbook or post slides, but their teaching method and note-taking are very thorough and logical. Highly recommend!
This course is a bit tough. I like the prof, he was fair and gives you enough material to do well. Put in the work you'll do well. Friends have told me now it is a bit harder but personally I prepared well and did well. So do the same and you should be fine keep in mind is a difficult course.
Professor Yildiz can be tough, but if you put in the work, it pays off. His lectures are dense but valuable - take notes, use unstuckstudy for extra practice, and you'll learn a lot. The final exam is challenging, but manageable with diligent preparation.
Took both CECN504 and CECN700 with Dr. Yildiz and he is AMAZING. Lecture videos are very easy to follow and understand. (And this is coming from someone who almost failed Intro ECN). Quizzes are based solely on lecture materials. The final exam is also VERY fair bc all the questions closely resemble the practice questions and the quizzes.
He knows the content but does not how to explain it at the level needed for those who are just learning the concepts, uses videos that are outdated, and it very tedeouse to understadn his handwriting in the videos as there is no structure or clean format.
