This course requires a considerable amount of effort. You must stay on top of lecture content. However, Fiona is a lovely professor, who is easy to reach, accommodating and passionate about the disability justice. The lectures are engaging, and there is a combination of academic and informal readings. Great course.
Fiona is a very welcoming and accommodating prof. Criteria for evaluation are clear, and is also easily reachable by email when needed. Not a bird course but very easy to do well as long as you put in the work. Wish Fiona taught more dst courses!
Amazing prof, really changed my views and understanding of disability. Very fair assesments that really caused you to think critically. You definetly needed to put in the work, but it was not excessively time consuming or difficult, however this was necessary for a good grade. Very happy I took this course despite the many readings and modules.
Fiona is an amazing prof and is super kind, even though there is a-lot of material to get through in this course it is easy to understand, and you are given lots of opportunity to raise your grade. She responds fast by email if you need help. She also tells you which readings are important for the exam.
Fiona is the most accommodating professor ever! I didn't watch 1 lecture and just followed PowerPoints and skimmed readings (I did all this before the final). She grants everyone extensions and is understanding that our lives don't revolve around school. She also marked my discussion posts even though I didn't do them weekly! Easiest class!
She's really kind, but the lectures and slides are extremely dense and difficult to get through. She also focuses on way too much information, making it difficult to stay engaged and know what's gonna be on the exam. I wouldn't recommend taking her because the final exam is based on 12 weeks of 3 hour lectures + all the readings per class.
She's an amazing professor and kind, but the lectures are way too long and not engaging enough because of the amount of information being thrown at you. She does 3 hour lecture videos + the slides with additional notes so get ready to read. There's also a final exam which is based on all 12 weeks now so beware before taking the course.
Professor Fiona Cheuk is the most amazing professor I have ever had at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is very understanding and lenient with extensions if you ask her for one. She is also super nice so I would definitely take her class again. There are no textbooks either and the participation marks are easy!
the best prof at tmu, hands down. if you're looking for a lower level liberal and dst300 is avail with her, take it! the easiest bird class, half of your grade is basically a free mark. shes such a nice prof, class is a bit boring though. one group project that isnt hard at all, one final essay, no exam.
Professor Cheuk is amazing and very accommodating! She truly cares about your success! Assignments were easy and so was her marking criteria. You can tell that she truly cares about the content she teaches! Very insightful and takes time to get to know everyone. There was no exam, and she will post recordings. Would definitely take her again!
