I've learned more in this class with Zach than in most of the other mandatory Media Production courses. Zach was an amazing prof. Incredibly smart and super caring, He was always ready to help by pointing you in the right direction. He always answered his emails quickly. I would 1000% recommend not only this class but any class with Zach!!
Incredibly smart, and caring individual.
Although lectures were being taught online, he put in the effort to have in person demonstrations that were extremely helpful! The test's were fair and on the content that was discussed on the slides and in lecture. Very interesting class, I wish there was another like it
Zach's a great professor. He brings his professional knowledge to class and it shows. I'd happily take any class with him.
I can't thank Zach enough for creating a colour-grading class. This class is everything you need to get started, and Zach helped me so much. He is super accommodating and is always available to answer questions both about the class and the industry. Be ready to get some work done, and though attendance is not mandatory, you have to show up to learn
Zach Cox is a great professor, I have not learned from any other professor as much as from him. He is very knowledgeable in his field and always eager to help students learn. This is a hands-on course to learn about gear, so if you don't show up, that's on you. Regardless Zach is always there to answer all your questions and help students improve.
Entire class was taught through online lectures that he recorded during the pandemic. I never met him, despite watching every single lecture. Tests are pretty difficult, especially considering the fact that he gives a laundry list of topics to study and then the test doesn't include them all and adds extra stuff. Not a great experience.
idk what people are saying about the difficulty, literally all you had to do was read the slides and watch a couple videos and you'd do fine on the tests. However, this is a very independent course, so if you can't manage your time well you're going to have a rough time and Zach doesn't do the best job at helping students out.
This man is a prime example of a prof who thinks that they are above everyone else, with his rather lame excuse for a course outline, and his lack of maturity when it comes to the course he "teaches". By far, the WORST RTA prof there is, and i'm sure most people will agree with me too.
Production Theory with Zach Cox is difficult at times, but super straightforward. He's easy to contact and the in-person Monday classes are incredibly helpful. Prod theory used to be an 8am Monday morning class so I really appreciated the fact that it was asynchronous and online.
