Shana Almeida

Shana is the best prof in the entire Communications department. If there is a class offered with her, do not even hesitate to take it. Her class is structured so well, and she picks the best TAs. She is always there to support you, and genuinely cares about how you are progressing. I have taken 3 courses with her and got no lower than a B.

Shana is a really awesome prof! You can tell she really cares about her students. Some of the topics she teaches can take a bit to grasp but she's really welcoming and supportive of questions and concerns.

Shana is an amazing person and a wonderful prof. This class was one of my favourite classes and it was thanks to her. She has a great way of teaching and really pays attention to how to get a point across. She is so knowledgeable and focuses on such important topics of language and power. I learned a lot from her and would love to have her again!

Dr. Almeida is easily one of the ProCom department's best instructors. She makes learning extremely accessible and has an amazing grasp on what she teaches. I had her for 3 classes, and learned a lot from her. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. She'll make sure that you have everything you need and set you up for success

Such a knowledgeable & insightful prof, the lectures were incredibly engaging every week. Assignments were clearly outlined & straightforward. Marking scheme was a bit tough, study & follow the instructions step by step

Brilliant. Course was structured really elegantly. Made difficult content clearly understood. Very content heavy lectures, but she makes sure students are making the connections between what they've learned and what she's presenting. Attendance is mandatory and assignments are heavy, but she sets you up for success. 10/10, made me smarter.

One of the best profs I've had in university so far. Very down to earth and challenges you to think outside of the box. The midterm & paper were easy. The readings weren't too bad either. She teaches boring content in an interesting and engaging way - I'd recommend any one of her classes to anyone any day.

Shana makes my tuition worth it, she cures my depression, inspires me to be a better citizen, and is an overall incredible human being and professor. Your mind will expand each class and she truly made me passionate about my degree. ALL of her classes open your eyes to things you never would have thought and offers immediately practical knowledge.
