Professor Daniel was very helpful and very easygoing. Course was built in a good way and lectures were well done and very easy to understand despite being an online course. I took this course to graduate on my last semester and the professor excelled in supporting me to pass the course and get a good grade. If I were still at TMU I'd take him again
This course is identical to an online version of this course that was designed for a certificate program. All of the lecture content was pre-recorded videos from years ago and it was extremely dry with outdated examples. The professor also doesn't provide meaningful grades/feedback and waited until the last possible day to grade the entire course.
He is a great professor who genuinely wants his students to succeed. He explains concepts in a simple and clear way and is always willing to help with any questions or concerns. If you put in the effort and pay attention, you will do well in his class. I highly recommend this professor.
If you have any concerns, just communicate them, and Dr. Daniel would be more than happy to help you out, I'm almost positive!!
im 3 weeks in and I hate this class with a passion. PLEASE JUST SKIP GEO 719 IT SUCKS. OUTDATED INSTRUCTIONS ON LABS, WHERE I HAVE TO CALL TMU FOR HELP SO I CAN SEND HIM THE NEWLY UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS MYSELF. MIND YOU THIS IS ALL FOR 1% OF YOUR GRADE AND THERE ARE 10 LABS 1% EACH. THESE LABS ARE SO ANNOYING THAT I MIGHT JUST NOT DO THEM :(
I had the privilege of being in his class and I wish all professors were as awesome as him! His way of teaching and supporting is admirable. He truly wants his students to succeed. Highly recommend!
Decent prof, labs were incredibly annoying and tedious to get through, especially using GIS which is incredibly slow. Every time you spend a hour or two working through the lab and think you're over, boom, he gives you another useless task to do. 3 hours gone by just for 1% of your grade.
I had a lot of fun in this class. The labs and assignments were a lot of fun. One lab per week and they all build up to the assignments. Responds to emails quickly and is very helpful.
For someone just learning how to use GIS, the online environment was frustrating, but Chris is really accessible outside of class and will respond to emails relatively quickly with good advice. Spend some time on Lab assignments as they help prepare you for the course's major assignments. Would prefer if Assignments weighed heavier than Tests.
Very nice professor. He was very helpful. He always replied to my emails quickly and gave great answers. The class itself is kind of difficult and doing it online made it even harder.
