Qian Wu

A very kind, charming & knowledgeable teacher who tries to make classes fun & interesting. Insanely approachable & answers any question. You'll look forward to her classes. The difficulty is what you'd expect from learning any new language, but the marking is a bit more lenient as it's a 101 class.

Professor Wu is the best! I had her pre-covid so I don't know how things have changed since switching to zoom but we had lots of homework but you get a lot of time to complete it and it's very easy. You need the textbook but they're relatively affordable. Midterm and final were pretty easy as well. Needed to attend class

10/10. Amazing prof. You will not regret getting her. The course itself can come across as review heavy since you need to practice and remember each hanzi but she made the quizzes, midterm & final very straightforward. She'll also make you participate in class by reading sentences out loud with your classmates which helped me alot.

Wu Laoshi is such an amazing prof! She gives good feedback and always makes sure everyone understands everything before moving on. I'm currently in her CHN401 class as well bc she's just the best!

I had Qian Wu for CHN101. She's very caring and kind towards her students and teaches Mandarin very well for a beginner class. As long as you attend class and finish the dialogue copying and hw assignments, then you'll be prepared for the tests/quizzes. She gave grace periods for each assignment knowing that we'd be busy with other courses.
