These ratings do not give this prof justice. SHES SHY. but the way she teaches and the care she brings to her content is a very modern approach to education and should be appreciated. the content is also quite interesting.
She was actually my communication instructor for APS111 at UofT, but she was so unhelpful that I thought it was fitting to write a review. Brutal grading, unclear feedback, either couldn't answer questions or gave vague answers, and was not understanding that certain feedback of hers were not as feasible given the constraints of the assignment.
She seems nice, but the course was so confusing and disjointed between lectures, assignments, and tutorials. The entire course was one big group project, though some parts were individual, and it was basically the same work in different forms, though it didn't make very much sense because things were so specific to your group. Not a good course.
She is a nice lady, but she is very unorganized and does not explain assignments well, leaving many unanswered questions to the last minute. She also adds tons of extra deadlines/parts to assignments randomly and expects students to write a lot of essays.
mid prof, marks heavy with unclear feedback.
Decent prof. Lectures helped with quizzes. Most of your time for CMN432 will actually be spent with the lab PA.
(CMN325) Dr Zurba's lectures are not engaging, she's extremely soft spoken and does not use a mic, and she makes D2L so hard to navigate for her students (she overcomplicates a lot) . Dr Zurba marks somewhat fairly but I would not recommend her as a prof, steer away if you can
Dr Zurba was an extremely frustrating professor to deal with. She was not flexible when she made mistakes pertaining to the syllabus, and poorly planned the schedule for the class. Her grading criteria, and even use of D2L for assignment submission was extremely unclear. She was not understanding of these difficulties and blamed the students.
Not very helping to students, as they have to figure everything themselves and if your group members are not helping than you would be left stranded in the middle of nowhere. From, lecture perspective she is terrible as her voice keeps fluctuating up and down as she is talking to her friends or something. But, in general she is a nice person.
She spoke very quiet so make sure you can the front row seats. The concepts of her lectures are sometimes hard to understand because she would take a quote from the reading and then just read it again without explaining what it means. Her TAs were hard markers. The assignments were interesting though, made a zine and went to AGO and took pictures
