I just don't understand! He overcomplicates things so much, and in his emails he always avoids the question in weird riddles, like he's trying to hit a word count. He's very prone to wasting time in class and on exam days; people are always cheating, and it just feels so unfair. But he's nice, I guess "in a head-in-the-clouds" kind of way.
While the course content is easy and he does allow cheat sheets, he was not a good or engaging prof at all. Does not respond to emails, very disorganized, always late to class, and is actually very standoffish despite trying to present as personable and engaging. Avoid him if you can, it will save you the headache.
Always late, low effort lectures. Hard to talk to. Would not recommend.
Prof. Simmonds is very lenient and caring. His grading scheme consists of 3 in-class quizzes (with cheat sheets) and a group project, which was open to discussion towards students. Half the time cheat sheets weren't needed if you just pay attention. Very easy to do well in this class, don't understand the negative reviews..
This professor is the literal worst. His assignment instructions are ambiguous, and he expected a specific structure for everything (which only existed in his head). Questions were answered in passive, metaphorical ways, and 3 hour class time was wasted on random nature videos
Despite his leniency, it is very hard to work with this prof. He doesn't respond to emails, very difficult to get answers to questions. His slides are decent but his lectures are extremely low-effort and involve repetitive videos. "Weekly discussions" for marks are just lectures with attendance sheets. An extremely disappointing course.
passive-aggressive attitude. doesn't answer questions clearly. quizzes easy, sometimes puts random questions that you don't know. egocentric. His APA sample guide is horrendous, idk how he got through his PHD & acc became a prof. Always plays the same unnecessary videos.
Very difficult to deal with. Not helpful at all. Gives too many contradictory statements. However, the course is good for getting a credit.
Professor Simmonds is a pretty cool guy. Easy and fair marker, and the course was only graded by 3 easy quizzes and a group research assignment. The 3 rating is due to the disorganization of the course content, being late to lectures, and trying a bit too hard to get us to interact in the lectures. Overall, an easy course, just a bit messy.
