Extremely nit picky and tough grader for no reason. Doesn't feel like he wants us to succeed and is criticizing our work to bring us down. Even when he compliments part of our work, it's an “obvious” thing for him. If you're a beginner in web design and have no experience coding, RUN because this is the worst prof in the school and for RTA936.
He's honestly passionate and knows about the field he teaches in. The issue is his grading is absurdly confusing and unhelpful. You could spend 20 hours on something and it'll be a B+ even when you personally talked the day before and he said it was perfect + with nonsense feedback and no rubric to go off of. it's just frustrating and unfair.
he seems like a decent guy but he treats this class like everyone is motion graphics professionals and doesn't teach much. shows some tutorials of pretty complicated stuff but doesn't post the recordings, so you'll spend a lot of time on youtube. gives zero feedback to backup low marks- marks tough and no rubric or guidelines at all for final proj
Worst prof ive ever had. No rubric, no guidelines, and the most passive agressive behaviour. He will not try to accomodate anything for you ever- and just expects students to be okay with a 6 hour zoom call for the final project. thats insane?? He doesn't record any of the lectures so be prepared to go off ADOBE instructions soley based off memory.
I've never had a professor so unaccommodating or determined to make things difficult for students until I took this class and met Lee Henderson. He refuses to give rubrics or expectations, and i wholeheartedly believe he wouldn't give you an extension if you were hit by a semi truck. Stay away.
Lee will take off marks for work elements that are subjective and don't impact the actual quality of the assessment. I had him for web design and he gave feedback on part of my site, which was fair enough, but the portion he criticized is beat by beat the same as his portfolio website. Can be nice at times but his ego gets in the way of teaching.
Avoid taking a class with him, I took web design with him and he is an extremely hard grader and provides minimal instructions/expectations. This class brought down my GPA for no reason. He is rude and puts students down. There is no reason he should be marking these assignments so hard.
Probably the worst prof i've ever known, condescending, never gives rubrics so you don't know what is expected of you, and when you ask he's rude and talks down to you like you're stupid, and then when he grades you, he points out all these flaws - but how would we know, if there is no rubric for any of the assignments to begin with?
Slow marker, and we had to submit an exercise weekly which was a lot. Marks sometimes didn't have feedback attached, and the lack of rubrics didn't help. But he gave really thoughtful critiques and feedback no matter the project and good lessons. He was always willing to troubleshoot issues and reverse engineer other motion graphic projects.
Midterm critiques were very chill. he gave a few suggestions and sent us off. There's no rubric or clear guidelines for the main project so we don't know what he expected. However, many received low marks with no explanation/feedback, leaving us confused about our marks and stressed, not knowing how to fix it for the final.
