Downright fascinating lectures. Fair marker. Passionate about teaching. Pleasant guy.
David is super engaging and passionate about his work. I'm honestly not sure why he has bad reviews because I always found the class content super interesting. My only complaint would be that he can sometimes drag things on and usually goes right until the final minute squeezing in as much lecturing as he can in 3 hours which is a lot at times.
He is an amazing prof. Super fun and interacts really greatly. A little hard grader but overall gives a great experience during lectures. He also records everything which helps a lot.
David is a super great guy, and makes the lectures very enjoyable. He is very understanding, and answers any questions that you may have. He does go off on tangents sometimes, but even those are interesting and enjoyable. The only downside is that his marking and grading criteria is kind of confusing.
Dropped this class halfway through the semester because the concepts were hard to understand and seemingly unrelated to each other. David is a hard marker, tells 1st years to expect 70s and comes off as prejudiced against 1st years. Went to a midterm Q&A and he basically just said what not to do and didn't give any examples of how to do well.
Hes a kind guy, but this course was awful. The concepts were hard to understand because he talks so fast in lectures and doesnt write enough information on slides. Marks visual essays tough and its so funny cus its just a bunch of photos. Tells you to expect 70s on work assignments as if thats normal. Did not enjoy at all. Exam was long af.
Amazing professor. Makes learning fun. His lecture content is understandable and clear. He does not give brief feedback but is good and fair on marking--you have to work for it though. Clear grading criteria. He is very nice and respectable as well. I recommend taking him. So far, I have an 80% in his class right now.
Murphy is hands-down one of my favourite profs at Ryerson. He made my 3-hour lecture go by in a jiffy. His content always was a launchpad to a lively discussion among the class. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Murphy is an authentic man. You won't regret taking his course.
Love this prof!! He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He gives fair grades and has the easiest exams ever, and provides outlines for them! He definitely goes off topic and likes to talk but id rather listen to him than hear class content anyways lol
David was a very engaging and intelligent prof. Lectures were very interactive. He does go off on tangents at times, but I found them to be really interesting. Going to class and doing the readings is helpful, as the essays and tests are based heavily on them.
