A young professor so understands and relates to what it is like to be a student. No need to buy a textbook as everything in class is all you will need to know. Super understanding with extensions, friendly and funny comprehensible lectures. I aim to take more of his classes.
I took his philosophy of religion class about three years ago now. I took the class as one of my electives and quickly realized how difficult it was going to be. However, he explained the concepts so well and used different analogies that I had audible light-bulb moments in class. If you take philosophy, try and get him as your professor.
ONLINE - Great professor. Very kind with super interesting lectures. He wants to help his students and is always open to office hours or answering any questions. There were some straightforward d2l discussions, two challenging quizzes and a final paper. Textbook wasn't mandatory but did help understand some topics. Overall a very fun class.
Dr. Dragos is an excellent philosophy professor. I took PHL709 Religion, Science, and Philosophy as part of my breadth requirements for Engineering. Not only did the content enlighten me on the subject matter of religion, science, and philosophy, but it was presented in a neutral, mostly non-biased way. He's a good lecturer and gives good feedback.
Professor Dragos is amazing! His lectures are interesting and he's extremely engaging. He's a fair marker and he's always available outside of class for extra help/feedback. I'd definitely take his class again!!
Best Philosophy prof! Most importantly though, he is a very caring and nice guy. God bless Dr Dragos
Dr. Chris Dragos is a wonderful professor and I really enjoyed both his Philosophy of Religion and Introduction to Modern Philosophy classes. He is super understanding and wants his students to do well. He is a fairly lenient marker. Moreover, his lectures are interesting and really make you think. I would definitely recommend taking his classes!
I had this professor for my PHL708 class and found it to be very easy to take - he records his lectures and is accessible out of class. Chris' lectures are quite long, so it is important to take breaks every 30 min - hour. Assignments are relatively easy as well, 2 precis, 5 short exercises and 1 term paper: there is no final exam.
I took both PHL 708 & 709 with Chris this term. Both classes have similar evaluation styles as well. There are weekly writing exercises which are not too hard but he marks the essays in a fair manner, so if you put effort in it, you will get a good mark. He also prerecorded the lectures so I took both courses entirely asynchronously.
This was my first Philosophy class and it was excellent. He gives good lectures, allows for questions and discussion after class. He is quick to reply to emails.
