Love her classes!
loves bringing her personal politics into the classroom any chance she gets. manadatory attendence to pointless lectures. i think she just likes to hear herself talk and makes us do it too.
I love Layal, her energy is amazing. She's such a strong and captivating woman. She's everything right with the world. She also doesn't play favourites and has a real eye for design. Take her! She will inspire you.
Grade based on 3 design assignments, attendance, and a checklist of design stuff to do across all 3 assignments. Assignments were subjective as design tends to be but she marked pretty generously. The lectures were a bit pointless because we never got tested on any of it and a lot of it didn't come up in the assignments.
Labs and lectures are useless and full of busywork activities for participation marks. Expects students to be her friend and doesn't give clear grading criteria. Course had a lot of potential but her teaching style and structure made it a 0/10.
This course was supposed to be fun. She makes attendance mandatory and even if u try to leave like 10 mins early she'll make u cut a whole half a class mark. It's like highschool again like this is uni it shouldn't be like this. She's also very aggressive when she speaks like she'll blurt out things and she's also confused and boring. Overall no.
confusing, unprepared. the only time she seemed to have prepared is when the chair of the department sat in on the class. the class could be great, but this professor should not be teaching it, i learnt very little and most weeks would rather have skipped it.
Professor Shuman is really caring and just wants you to succeed in her classes. If you have any questions on the assignments, she's quick to give you an answer and help you out. Also, she gives great feedback on some of your rough work, which can help you improve you assignments. Make sure to follow all grading criteria and you're set.
