Engaging lectures and a kind professor. Cons: Extremely heavy homework in volume. The textbook is required for almost everything because its all online. Exams are tough and may not reflect lecture content well because of the difference of what's taught in class vs the textbook. She is such a sweetheart and wants to see you succeed
she is the sweetest lady ever, I usually hate language courses but she made it enjoyable. She cares about her students.
Señora Martel is a lovely lady, but oh my gosh the written exam was awful. The exam was nothing like what we were assigned (I genuinely do not know how I passed). Regardless, the oral exam was great for beginners, but the written exam was complex. It felt like it was meant for intermediate level Spanish students. Her class was easy, but confusing.
It's a language course, so you, of course, have to put in the effort otherwise you will not do well. The professor does a great job in keeping the class engaged as well as setting everyone on the right track regarding what they need to study for tests/ exams. She's also very understanding and cares about her students. I hope I get her for 301!
Myriam Martel is very caring and understands how to teach the material. I took her SPN301 course online, which was annoying, but her use of VHL made it easier. However, I didn't like how she taught in English, which made it harder to learn. She also, most of the time, doesn't give a straight answer when you ask a question. Still great though!
This class requires a lot of effort and gave me more of a headache than my required courses. It was online, so you had to rely heavily on the lectures/homework to really get something out of it. Señora Martel is a lovely lady who does her best to help you. However, the material on the final exam was nothing like what we had learned in class.
Amazing prof! Truly a gem at TMU! She is so nice and helpful for those looking to learn Spanish!
She was good. She explains things clearly, mainly bases tests off of what you learn from the lectures, gave a lot of homework (which you have to pay to get access to), and was friendly. The exams require a lockdown browser. The course itself has a lot of material to consume within a few weeks so it is naturally difficult if you don't study.
The course is way too time-consuming and fast-paced. Definitely wouldn't recommend taking SPN101 as a LL. The teacher marks way too hard and expects us to know way too much.
Very respectful and a great teacher, take her if you get the chance.
