Dr. Panaioti is truly an amazing professor. His lectures are extremely engaging, and his teaching style is very unique yet effective. Exams and tests are all open-book, and there is an anti-technology policy (which I grew fond of). Just be prepared to print an excessive amount of readings every week. Overall, I couldn't recommend Dr. Panaioti more
Incredible professor, clearly passionate about his area of study. Could listen to him for hours. A LOT of reading + you have to show up to every class, there are no slides. A hard class if you're not used to reading and writing a lot but totally worth your time, I learnt a lot.
No online material, you MUST show up & take notes. Lots of reading but I only read the parts he outlined in lectures and was fine. There is 2 in class essays and an exam, all open book so get ready to print A LOT. He is open to feedback and very accommodating, but this class could be difficult if you are not a strong writer.
Professor Panaioti is an amazing professor. I enjoyed this course thoroughly and would take it again. He is funny and manages to make difficult concepts understanding for us. He is helpful to students and encourages us to share our thoughts. There is A LOT to read. The assessments are difficult if you're unprepared. Otherwise, it's less hard.
Dr. Panaioti's lectures provided immense clarity on the required texts (which were difficult and lengthy most of the time). Although this was a mandatory course for me, I enjoyed it and will be taking more philosophy classes in the future.
He is a decent professor but his TA's mark hard and give no concrete feedback to help one improve their marks.
I took him in Winter 2020. It seems the course has changed but regardless he is a good professor. He is far from easy and you do have to put work into it. Seems like students forget that you need to put work in to get good marks a lot of the time. Not a bird course and you should be a good essay writer if you expect a decent mark.
Dr. P is an absolute stud. Legit, one of the most brilliant profs I've ever had. Some people are complaining about difficultly? The guy was literally throwing free participation marks for just showing up to his online lectures, which was 25% of the grade. And what? Two 4 page papers and a take home exam? An easy grade if you at least try.
Prof is knowledgeable but dont take this class as an elective. over 60 pages of readings every week with 1+ hour lecture. He also made q&as mandatory and cut off marks for not attending which was stupid. He is nice but this isnt a bird course. The readings are kinda hard but if youre into this subject you will definitely like him & the course
He's really informative and some of the content could be interesting, but he doesn't post lecture slides. On top of weekly tutorials he had mandatory Q&A sessions where he would take 1% off for each absence. I wouldn't recommend taking this class if you have a large course load, requires way too much work.
