Amber is an amazing professor. She is very welcoming and encourages students to participate in discussions. She is professional, but somehow casual at the same time. Would definitely take a class with her again.
I was looking forward to taking this class, sadly let down! Amber took the class and flipped it on its head. We learned NOTHING regarding the actual history of Toronto but instead learned all about social justice in the east end of Toronto. When anyone questioned Amber's agenda, we got a lecture about how geography is not only physical. AVOID!!!!!
The best liberal course ever! She has a great personality before being an awesome professor. She is young and uses a new method of teaching like taking students out to explore the city and bringing people from different communities to tell us what they're going through as a person living in Toronto. We need more professors like her period!
We had to go on a street walk with a group of classmates and someone who has been homeless before. This changed the way I look at Toronto as a newcomer. I am happy for the experiences Prof Grant has shown me.
I switched into this section because the other geography of Toronto class didnt fit with my work schedule anymore and Im so glad!! As an engineering student I havent explored critical perspectives like the ones talked about in professor grants class. The field trips make taking a summer class not as bad
