Overall, she's pretty fair and encourages lots of discussion. Interesting topics covered but sometimes people were allowed to go on for maybe more than necessary.
This is a capstone class, that is challenging. Lots of independent work which can feel a lot. But I have found Nicole to be very accessible and ready to help. She does really care and is great one on one.
Nicole was great. I really enjoyed this class.
1. Doesn't actually lecture, likes class discussions but are poorly executed 2. Doesn't allow technology 3. Many entry and exit tickets and lots of pointless readings 4. Very poor instructions for many things 5. Exams are poorly made and she doesn't allocate sufficient time to complete them properly 6. Responds to emails inconsistently
This post is not about RTA433. RTA 855 with Dr. Forrester was great. She does not allow technology in class because the classes are more discussion-based (if you have accommodations, that's fine). The readings are for the assessments and reflections, which are completed during class time. Basically, go to class, participate and have fun.
Course is super confusing, and absolutely nothing happens in the lectures. She also states that assignments will be given back 2 weeks later... this is a lie. I have received one assignment back worth 5% of my grade, and the semester has 3 weeks left. Absolutely ridiculous
Clearly a good person but very hard to communicate with effectively. Lacks confidence in her methods and allows herself to be bullied by the class. Slow to respond on emails and did not hand back feedback on partial assignments until much later though her syllabus states you should expect it back in "2 weeks".
Was impossible to reach over email. Had to hand in multiple part assignments without getting previous parts graded, so I wasn't able to know if I was on the right track. The class was super disorganized with the wrong due dates posted left and right. Lots of performance tasks that were hidden and only seen after you do all the readings.
I enjoyed Nicole's class a lot. What's amazed me now, is how much of what I learned in class I find myself applying in my daily life. Very practical things learned and in a fun manner.
I have to say I was not looking forward to taking this class and to my surprise it turned out to be pretty good. As you get more into the major assignment for the class things begin to be really interesting. Lots of flexibility and she was always available to meet. One advice - don't wait until the end to work on the assignment.
