Just go through the slides and take note of important points she says in her recordings. As an EE MEng student with little knowledge of Biomed field, I did very well on the course with just the slides and the links on the topics and narrations by Dr Mai. The labs were fun and very interesting, honestly easy marks if you put in work and time on them
Really sloppy course and lacks clear direction for assignments.
This course is well taught. Most of the lecture notes are pretty easy to follow and understand. There's a good amount of memorization required to do well, but it's not super heavy. Quizzes are fair and an extension of what you've memorized. Labs are easy, design project is not too hard aside from choosing a good topic.
Dr. Mai is quite nice but her powerpoints are a hot mess. The content is all scrambled and she doesnt know where to start with any of the topics. To get a good grade, you just gotta keep reading her notes (and listening to the voice over in our case) until you remember most of it. Online classes had no midterm but the exam was difficult.
I don't know if there was a course text, but you don't need it. She seems to off-road a lot of content based on own experiences and interests. She posts skeleton notes but without context you're broad googling. Upper year course so have a strong background in basics as theres a lot of overarching concepts. She's easy to approach outside class
