Professor Oliver consistently goes above and beyond in teaching this advanced course. He is highly knowledgeable and provides practical guidance on how to prepare effectively for CPA exams. The workload needs sustained effort. Take the assignments seriously, as you will need all you can get. Exams are challenging but fair.
For someone with so many academic accolades, this professor will leave you wondering how he achieved anything when he can barely post a PDF to the course shell. I don't think I've ever been more confused about course requirements and content. There was way too much work on a weekly basis, and most exam questions did not match the course content.
This professor is very good and goes into concepts in depth. He is very passionate about what he is teaching and gives good insight into the CFE exam. I will say that there is a lot of homework involved in the realm of 3-4 hours per week so be prepared.
Insane workload, every week u will spend almost all ur time revising for this class. Oliver was a good prof, he went over questions and a case each week and really does want his students to succeed. However, there is only sm he can do bc how well u do in this class fully depends on how much u read/practice. If u fall behind u will never catch up.
Such a nice guy who really cares about his students. Found the midterm and final fair - even the cases were marked generously. He explains concepts very clearly which gives you hints on what to focus on. This is the hardest course in SAF. Oliver gives some 'easy' marks, so take advantage of them because you'll need all you can get.
Be prepared for all classes and review all of your technicals from all of your intermediate and advanced financial accounting courses as you will be using them and applying them to your cases. If you know how to use the CPA handbook and apply it to each issue in the case, and take the time to write cases regularly, you will be fine in his course.
Professor teaches really well and is considerate. Was worried that my result would be worse. Just saw my final grade. It's not my best grade but I still feel good. The assignments take a lot of time but make sure you complete them.
Professor Okafor is a no-nonsense person teaching a very difficult course. If you joke around with this course, you will regret it at the end. The professor is passionate about teaching and teaches really well. The tip is to do all the assignments and attend every class, if you can.
A very passionate and knowledgeable professor that teaches one of the most difficult course at SAF. Course work was heavy but could help you do well. His teaching style was hands-on and provided opportunty to work with other students. Professor Oliver enjoys his work.
Extremally arrogant teacher. The questions are done in class with other classmates. If he takes up the questions then all he does is read it off the answer key. Homework and quizzes only equal 1% each but you will spend a minimum of 5 hours on the assignments.
