tests were structured extremely confusing. every multiple choice question felt like a long answer.
He's very passionate about his field and tries to keep the lectures engaging but having 5 midterms/tests was very hard. He gave practice tests but the actual tests were so much more harder because of the confusing wording of the short answer questions.
Nice guy, super passionate about his field. I can see why rates r so low, his tests (esp the short answer) r hard to follow sometimes but for the most part u can do well if u study and focus on understanding things rather than memorizing facts. His prac tests were close to acc tests, curves alot, final exam was identical to past tests so use those!
Lectures were disorganized and hard to follow. The course had five tests plus a final, and even though cheat sheets were allowed, they didn't help much. The tests were very difficult, and there were moments where the instruction felt confusing. I wouldn't recommend taking this course with him.
Gaggin gupta lol! He's v passionate about his work. Def the most interesting class this sem. If u love learning about intricate biological processes you'll enjoy it. However the tests were brutal (every 2 weeks). Sometimes understanding the concepts isn't enough bc those long answer, matching questions really throw you off. He does curve those tho
The tests require intense critical thinking and analysis, alongside heavy preparation. Though, as of yet, this was the most difficult biology-based class that I've taken, it was also for that reason, the most rewarding and beneficial, as I learned to carve out thorough thinking strategies.
not that bad. 5 tests, 1 exam, one sided cheat sheet for the tests, double sided for the exam. His lecture are helpful and he explains stuff really well. Lowest test dropped. The exam takes questions from the previous tests (even made easier a little). Curves alot (80 to 95 on a test). Just attend and learn instead of memorizing
Cheat sheets for each test very rarely was helpful as most questions were just situation/experimental questions. The tests basically require you to have insanely high understanding of the material.
He's really passionate about cell bio and I thought his class was fun. Cell bio is a 2nd yr course but he teaches it like a 3rd or 4th year course, the tests are difficult but they're honestly the kind of problems you'll encounter if you want a career in research anyway. If you don't go to lectures you're done for though! Great guy, stressful class
Do yourself a favour and don't take a class with him
