Michael McGregor

Dr. McGregor is a great professor overall, nice guy and will answer any question you ask (even if it's dumb). Only complaints would be that his lectures can get very boring because although the presentation is 8-10 sides, he spends a lot of time talking on each slide (which can be very helpful), and the tests are very reliant on the readings.

Dr. McGregor is really kind and knowledgable. His lectures were always interesting and content-filled. He was accessible outside of class and was willing to provide me with extra feedback on assignments. My only issue was with my TA who seemed to mark more harsh in comparison to the other two. As for the course itself, it was very straightforward!

Honestly I was dreading taking POG 230 because I'm not a fan of statistics, but the prof made it my favourite class to attend. He takes his time explaining concepts and is very patient with questions. The material is dry but he makes it fun with light hearted jokes. You don't need to go to class for participation, but you need to for doing labs.

Pretty solid prof overall, he goes into much detail during his lectures and takes a long time to cover the little slides he has. His slides are minimal content so if you skip class you miss everything he takes about. I defintely think he could finish his lectures in half in the time it takes him.

Lectures are pretty dry and straightforward. Wasn't great at mediating the chat or calling out offensive/irrelevant questions from students. The paper outline was vague and he changed the requirements for the paper 24hrs before it was due. Took a long time to get grades back despite having a bunch of TAs.

McGregor is a great prof and on top of that a great person! you can tell he really cares about the success of his students and makes sure that students understand the material he is teaching. I was really nervous about taking a stats course but he made it super easy to understand! read the textbook, go to the lectures and labs and you will be fine!

Professor McGregor is such a great guy! His lectures aren't boring, you can tell he tries his hardest (especially online), he made a course like stats easy to understand, and is quick to reply to emails if you need any help. My favourite thing about him is that he's a very caring person and reasonable with grades which is really important.

Prof McGregor is excessively knowledgeable and puts in an effort to make lectures interesting. You best be coming to his lectures though as he throws in side topics not found in the textbook. Go to class, pay attention and put in the effort to be successful. Midterm was a bit difficult, but easily doable if you had attended lecture. 5/5!

Fun Prof. I really enjoyed his lectures. Only thing is he is very unclear on the essay and what is expected. My problem with this class is the TA. Non-Politics Majors shouldnt be TAs for this class. Secondly, the TA marked the work unfairly, ignored emails, and was simply not good. He is a good prof, but its a shame he hired poor quality TAs.
