The course is hard, very hard. He tries his best to be clear but at times he treated some of the grammar stuff as if everyone should have known them.Make sure to follow the lectures and stay on top of it to do well in the class. He uses Tophat for homework, participation questions, and slides. There are make-up participation points at end of term/
Although the content of course wasn't of my best interest, Prof Hart respects all the students and provides the content well. It is clear he has great knowledge on the subject and that made the material clearer when he explains it.
Professor uses Tophat for homework, participation questions, and slides. There are make-up participation points at end of term. Online copies of the textbooks are provided. Translations are open book. As long as you show up to class, you will get a good grade.
It was a pleasure being in Dr. Hart's class. This class was not the most entertaining, but he did his best to break down difficult concepts. Attendance is mandatory for participation marks & he gave us extra credit opportunities. Respectful, open to discussions after class, answers emails quickly. Assignments:participation, short essay&presentation.
this is a good course if you truly want to learn the language, otherwise you would find it boring and do bad on the tests. the professor is very nice and lenient in giving marks, he gives many opportunities to boost your average. attendance matters and counts towards participation marks.
This prof has an attitude that fosters an unpleasant learning environment. Nobody knows Latin so questions should be expected!! But he doesn't tolerate them ("There's no such thing as dumb questions" does not apply in this class!). Slides of Latin text are read aloud and translated but it's dry and the attendance marks are the only reason I show up
He is very nice and a very good teacher, for any language courses you do have to study on your own but as long you are willing to do that the course is pretty easy because he is a good professor.
the lectures can be boring at times but if you are interested in the content it will be easy to get through. exams and assignments are quite easy if you enjoy the content of the class.
Taken during Covid, very well adapted to online learning, easy to follow along with his lectures (AS LONG AS YOU SHOW UP). Prof responds to every question and will e-mail you after class if he missed you. Group work every class, just translation stuff. 2 for difficulty since the professor bell curves, THE ACTUAL COURSE CONTENT IS STILL DIFFICULT.
Not sure why ACS100 isn't an option - he teaches it this sem. I liked Professor Hart. University courses should be a challenge. His texts have difficult words because you should learn them as an academic. I'm glad he challenges us. He's patient. One girl interrupts 7 or 8 times during his lecture, and he remains a gentleman. Inspiring content.
