Nayrouz Abu Hatoum

Ms. Abu Hatum is an amazing teacher, she allowed me to understand the world we live in with a new perspective. She is an attentive listener and is available to help. She also encouraged dynamic and exciting participation between the students. A more negative point is that there is a lot of reading and work to be done.

Nayrouz is a true gem. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about her students success. Her assignments and grading are more than fair and it was a pleasure to learn about visual anthropology with her.

I really enjoyed this class. Nayrouz was a great professor. The lectures/readings were very interesting. We were able to watch a lot of very interesting films. I loved the focus on Palestine/Middle East through many of our assigned readings. The prof was easily accessible outside of class and was very understanding to any concerns.

Nayrouz is a brilliant professor. She is incredibly kind and understanding. Her lectures can be long but full of valuable info, make sure to read and pay attention and you'll get a good great. I liked her approach to the course material, and I will surely be taking her courses in the future.

Nayrouz is one of those special profs that knows the subject matter well and is still excited to teach it. Her lectures were engaging because she is clearly passionate about the topics at hand, but always made sure the class could keep up. This is so important in teaching broad concepts like gender theory. Also, assignments were straight-forward!

Nayrouz is a wonderful professor. She is extremely passionate about the course material and will always go the extra mile to accommodate students with their learning. Content is interesting and relevant to real life circumstances. No textbook is needed. Grading is generous.

Nayrouz was awesome. Clearly passionate and informed about the course content, will help guide you through more dry and dense materials with real-life examples. Essays, exams, and group projects are easy as long as you apply the class materials and show you care enough to think critically. Plus, no textbook to buy!
