She just read off the slides each class. You really don't need to show up because you'll get the same experience reading aloud to yourself at home. She seemed nice enough and class always ended 1.5-2h early so that was good.
Teaches the math/metrics like an English teacher, would talk for five minutes plus and yet still not answer any questions asked. I asked her one because she was confusing me and she said in front of 300 ppl: "You might need to get math tutoring. I don't think you're conceptualizing the material" when I graduated w/honours in 6 math/physics courses.
I enjoy the one hour lectures honestly. There's no need to get through the slides any slower it would be boring. She's very easy to ask for help and she marked my assignment reasonably considering I didn't do my best on it. It's all up to preference on if you want to sit in a 3 hour lecture
reads off slides and zips thru lectures in an hour, but she's nice and answers questions. for marketing metrics, she solves practice problems in class. exams were extremely easy as long as you studied and understand concepts. If you want to major in marketing I wouldn't recommend her. if you just want to pass with a good grade, she's a good option
Professor Newton does care for her students and should you need any help, is more than happy to go over the material with you. However, classes aren't the most engaging as it is just her reading off a PowerPoint for one hour. Not the best prof but not the worst either, her rating makes her seem worse than she is.
I'm sure Prof. Newton means well. She is there to assist you if you have a question about the material. However, lectures are her reading off the slides for 30 mins which you could do on your own. Also, the midterms have pretty out of the ordinary questions unrelated to significant course concepts, which led to the midterm getting curved.
Classes are boring, not very engaging. She skims through the slides and reads them off. If you are someone who is super passionate in marketing, she is not your professor.
Rated weirdly low at the other higher level marketing course, but she is very nice and gives you step by step instructions and really wants to make sure the students understand the course material.
Kind prof who's willing to help where needed. Marks tough on the group assignments and she assigns the groups. Exams are straightforward it's just a lot of content to know. She speeds through her lectures in about 1 hour, you won't have time to copy everything down, and they're pretty boring lectures. The rest of the time is to work with ur group
WORST CLASS IN MY ENTIRE UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE.
