Worst prof ever. Boring and a terrible grader.
Solid lecturer, but somewhat disorganized with the lecture content order (uses the textbook but doesn't follow a similar order). No assignments, just weekly quizzes (which require you to read the chapter ahead of time) and two exams. Some of the terminology in concepts in the exam do not match either the textbook or the lecture.
From 6-9, I wanted to just sleep thats how boring he was every single class. The stupid group discussions were even worst. TA was usless. He didnt know what he was doing 99% of the time. Exams were on the most randomest of material. Basically memorize the entire textbook and word for word what he talks about in class and youll pass easily.
Honestly, I finished with a 4.33 in the course because i literally MEMORIZED the textbook and all its random details, because that's what the majority of the exams are. If you're willing to do that, you'll be golden. Happy with the grade, but it wasn't fairly earned. Education shouldn't just be memorization of useless content.
You assemble into groups that are alphabetically distributed at least one or two times each class for participation marks (lots of people shuffling in a small classroom is not exactly fun). Tests were not a good representation of the lectures. Lectures were mundane. Overall, I did not care for this class or the TA (she did not make things easier).
I enjoyed actually really enjoyed this class. The majority of the grades came from 2 40% exams and they were easy if you thoroughly read through the text book as well as his lecture notes. He is pretty funny and I found the class to be very interesting. On the down side, there was an alphabetical seating assignment, which I felt was very elementary
worst professor Ive had in the 2 years Ive been here, wasted $600 on a course with him. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I personally really enjoyed prof Hehman's class. I found the tests to be an accurate representation of what we had learned, especially since you were supposed to read the chapter and do the corresponding quiz before each class. I would take class with him again, he gave great lectures that were engaging for the most part.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I thought that the tests were fair. He's pretty humorous in lecture and keeps the content interesting, and the participation is easy marks. There are open-book quizzes before class which can boost your mark if you put in the time. Tests are worth a lot but the final is non-cumulative.
Hes a nice guy and all but hes extremely disorganized, his exams are not fair unreasonable and takes forever to mark an exam that was purely done on a scantron. 10/10 would not recommend.
