She is a good teacher but is very rude and disrespectful. I would ask her for help but I wouldn't find it helpful or engaging. If you make a mistake she will be very strict about it. I went to Noel George for questions. My advice, just focus or else you won't survive.
Cliker marks for attendance in her class. After missing 5 weeks of class due to injury - where no content was taught, but labs and online assignments were still due - and then missing the rest oflecture due to corona, had the audacity to include participation marks in the final mark. After missing 3 classes due to neruo appt, 40 was my parti. mark
Prof was good at teaching but she's very disrespectful. Made me feel horrible when i went to talk to her about one of the questions i got wrong on the exam. rude prof.. but you will do well in her class if you have previous knowledge of chem from highschool.
Dr. Chen is an outstanding professor! Make sure you complete your textbook homework, tutorial questions, quizzes, and mid-term reviews. The mid-terms and the final exam are very fair and easy if you do your homework and go to class. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions because she is really thoughtful. I would take her class again!
(Chemical engineering first semester) honestly an amazing professor that puts more effort into teaching than any other professor I've met. Lectures convey information clearly and classes are interesting. Just make sure to study what you don't fully understand and you will be fine watch out for midterm #2 tho.
The class content is pretty simple considering its general chemistry. If you've taken grade 12 chemistry you'll be fine! If not, she's really good at explaining and goes at a steady pace. There are 2 weekly homework assignments get annoying but it keeps you on track with the chapters. Would definitely take chemistry with her again!
She is a very good prof. However, she does go through lectures fast and assumes the material is review from high school. But she does care and takes time to explain when you ask questions
Shes the best chemistry prof in first year chem at ryerson. Get her at all costs.
the professor will just rush through the chapters as its a piece of cake. She finished 4 chapters in 3 weeks that included orientation. lecture is just 2.5 hours a week. Her criteria for students understanding the syllabus is at least 50% of kids have their hands up and she is good to go.
The best professor i have ever had She cares so much about her students Explains hard concepts and breaks it down to make it easy for everyone I failed this course with Dr heyd and took it again with Dr Chen my grades are higher than ever and this is my top course this semester THANK YOU DR CHEN FOR BEING AMAZING
