He is still a new prof. I give him credit on that. He needs to know that this course is designed for first year students. One thing that bothers me is of the amount of assignments that is getting out of hand on a weekly basis. But he does provide good feedbacks.
Lecture seems straightforward. However the midterm and finals will blow you up. Get ready to put maximum effort on the labs as those assignments weigh a bit heavy on the overall grade.
This is not what a lower liberal course should look like. Been studying the whole content throughout the term and yet the finals was a nightmare. His feedbacks are minimal and instructions are unclear. The worst scenario is that he grades your assignment and tests in a tough way.
If you have no prior GEO knowledge, this course would lose your mind! Midterm format was not clear and took forever to receive our grades. This is just unacceptable. This summer course does NOT help your GPA if that is what your seeking for. Take another prof for this course instead.
Labs are really difficult to follow up because of the unclear method of teaching. I tried to approach Prof Scarpone but he doesn't seem to get the idea for making the instructions clear. Not taking any course with him in the near future.
Be sure to attend all classes and labs or else you will fail this course. Professor Scarpone is not prepared to teach this course.
Unprofessional teaching method. Midterm and finals are incredibly difficult. Avoid this prof for any course. Can't deliver the appropriate approach towards teaching students.
Completely unorganized and grading is not reasonable among students.
He was always available when needed and you could tell how much effort he put into making his lectures interesting. Make sure you're attending lectures and labs to get the most out of this course and so you don't end up behind!
Laziest Prof ever. If u ever have him for geo, switch to a different prof if you can.
