Dr Thorne offers a very clear breakdown. While some of his teaching methods are not accessible friendly, he is consistent and predictable. The content of the course matters, and he includes many different ways to engage in the learning through written and visual media (such as movies etc.) Dr. Thorne will invest in you and make you a better writer
He yaps too much, connect every lesson to autism and lgptq+. Super tough marker and will refuse to mark your assignment if you make the smallest citation mistake. In a lot of the lectures he would talk about AI and how he can always tell. Avoid taking him if you can.
Genuinely excellent lecturer, with well put together classes on interesting topics. Also posts all his slides, which are generally well made.
I feel his passion, however, he makes attendance mandatory by having everyone sign at the very end of his 3 hour long class that never fully covers the chapters. Very strict about APA citations and would refuse to grade your work if it's not done correctly. Would not take again, his emails are also sound very disrespectful and rude.
michael is average, he talks a lot and is passionate on what he teaches making his lectures sometimes hard to sit through. he like participation, but you can post on d2l about your own opinions for participation marks!
Gets a little too much hate for what he does. Great guy, passionate about what he teaches, and gives great grading criteria so you can do well. Would recommend if you need the course.
Honestly, surprised about the negative ratings for this professor. He's great. You can tell he's very passionate about what he's teaching. This is the only class that I'm not half asleep, and he makes every lecture very interactive and entertaining. He's also very clear on what he wants on assignments.
his class is pretty straightforward, make sure to go to each lecture because he takes attendance and have the textbook just to reference for in your final essay. midterm and final were online and pretty reflective of the lecture slides. dont take any of his feedback too personal he is just very straightforward. cool guy!
Good prof, speaks so loud for everyone to hear him, gives lots of hidden details abt stuff in the slides. Is a tough marker but clear & straight to the point w his feedback which helps alot for improvement. Barely any assignments, 3 with a final essay, but they take an insane amount of time for an elective. also u have to be actively participating
hes not a bad prof and his lectures are not bad but his assignments are not easy. so much work and its so unessesary, way too much time taken up as an elective. take RTA 180 instead if your looking for a lower liberal that is easy.
